Tips To Help You Stop Procrastinating

Have you ever sat and watched your to do list get larger and larger and you kept putting it off. The more you have to do, the less you want to do it. However, it feels great when you start checking things off that list and getting stuff accomplished. It may be tough to find the drive to start, but once you get going it gets easier to keep the flow. Here are some tips to get you in gear:

Make Your Bed - This is the first task of the day. Making your bed can set your mood for the whole day and put you in a frame of mind that helps to accomplish the things you need to get done.

"If you make your bed every morning you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. By the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that little things in life matter. If you can't do the little things right, you will never do the big things right." - Admiral William McRaven

Organization - Being in a chaos filled space can directly effect your mind and create a more chaotic mental state. Organizing your work space is a great way to start your to do list. It helps to clear your mind and lay out exactly what you have to do.

Deadlines - Setting deadlines is one of the most effective ways to keep checking items off your to do list. Pick a task, pick a time you need to complete it by, and pick a reward. Once you finish your task on time, reward yourself with a break, or something else that you will look forward to.

Get Dressed - If you work from home it's great to not have a long morning routine to get yourself physically presentable for other people every day. However, if you do get dressed first thing in the morning you will have more motivation to get your work going.
