Why You Should Invest in a Good Website Development Company

What are the main goals of a website?
• To provide easily accessible information about your business to your customers.
• To sell your product to potential buyers.
• To create a relationship with customers.

It's extremely important today to not only have a website, but have a great website. How do you get a great website? You invest in a great website designer. Of course you can create your own, cheap website through an online web-builder. But that's exactly what you're going to get... a cheap website. It will also be a template website that thousands of other businesses have. That's not going make you stand out.

You can invest in a cheap website designer, but again, cheap is what you're going to get because they are going to design your website with a template just like you would have if you did it yourself.

The only way to get a great website, which is a necessity these days, is to invest in a website designer that is experienced and offers many different services such as social media management, marketing, advertising, and other aspects that put your business at the top of the list.

Investing in a great website development company benefits your business and creates new customers which increases your profits.

There is nothing more important to invest in than yourself and your business.

At Skinny's Webworks we strive to be a great website development company. We are a full-stack company who offers everything you need for your online presentation. We pride ourselves on the best customer service and website designs in the business.

When you succeed, we succeed!

Become a Better Public Speaker

Getting up in front of numerous people to speak is one of many people's worst fears. Staying focused on your topic while battling a racing heart and sweaty palms is not easy and even the most experienced public speakers get nervous. The larger the crowd, the more tense you may feel. But stay calm and remember to breathe. Public speaking is tough so take some of these tips into account before your next speech or presentation:

Redefine Your Audience
Instead of thinking of your audience as a group of people who are judging every word you say, think of them as something more comforting. Maybe they're a group of your friends and acquaintances or co-workers - people you see on a daily or weekly basis. Or think of them as your peers who are all going to speak after you, so they are probably just as anxious as you are.

Use Visual Aids
Having a power point or handing out a pamphlet to the audience gives them something to look at besides you and something for you to focus on besides them. It may also make it easier for the audience to understand what you're speaking about by seeing it in front of them.

Speak to Individuals
No matter how many people are in the audience, they are all individual people. Instead of speaking to the group as a whole, make eye contact with individuals and speak directly to them. This will give you the feeling of a more relaxed, personal conversation as opposed to a public speech and will give the individuals a more personal experience as well.

Be Confident
Confidence is an important trait in all aspects of life, especially public speaking. Even if you're not feeling confident, pretend you are and you will start to feel more and more confident. If you make a mistake, cover it up with confidence as insecurity will cause you to get frazzled and more mistakes could be made.

Breathe
Public speaking is never easy but the most important tip is required - breathe. Take a minute before your speech to concentrate on your breathing which will help your mind and body to relax. If you feel your heart rate accelerating during your speech, take a couple seconds to take a few deep breaths to calm yourself back down.

Google AdWords - Why You Need AdWords For Your Business

AdWords (Google AdWords) is an advertising service by Google for businesses wanting to display ads on Google and its advertising network. The AdWords program enables businesses to set a budget for advertising and only pay when people click the ads. The ad service is largely focused on keywords.

Advertising & Marketing...
Whether your advertising budget is large or small, an effective promotional campaign is a necessity. Skinny's Webworks provides the technical services to promote an artistically professional style, memorable dialog and creative design to attract the attention of your target audience.

The real secret to Google AdWords and other advertising is establishing an effective campaign targeting the correct demographics in the right locations. And...a consistent message campaign between your website, social media and advertising platform.

FREE AdWords Advertising...
Online advertising isn't as simple as displaying a picture that links to your website. Modern online advertising includes creating the right advertisement with the right words and keywords that link and match the words and keywords included on your website.  It also includes targeting the right demographic (male, female, income level, interests, etc.) and within the right location (country, state, town, distance, etc.). It is the combination of these details that make for a successful advertising campaign.

This is why Skinny's Webworks includes a free month of Google AdWords advertising (a $100.00 value) with every website we create. This free month will show you the effectiveness of even a small budget ad campaign. Additionally, using Skinny's Webworks for your online advertising allows us to modify your website content, landing pages, etc. to reflect your advertising...and visa-versa.  If you decide it is time for a holiday ad, we may suggest modifying portions of your website also to reference this holiday.

It is this combination of linking your website content, your social media postings and your online advertising that makes for a successful internet presence. Establishing this link and consistant message increases your visitors, customers and therefore...your success.

Small Things You Judge Others On

It's human nature to judge others and while we may not always know what we're judging others for, research shows that it's usually small, subtle things they do. Some things we judge other on are:

How they treat waitstaff and receptionist - For example, if you are interviewing a potential employee for a job position, they are most likely going to treat you with respect. However, how they treat the receptionist on the way in and out of the building shows more of their character.

How often they check their phone - If you're having a conversation with someone and they keep checking their phone you judge them as being disrespectful and having a lack of will power.

Their handshake - You may not realize it but if someone's handshake is weak you probably associate them with having low self confidence. A stronger handshake usually belongs to someone who is more extroverted and less shy.

If they're late - When someone shows up late you tend to categorize them as disrespectful, lazy, and disinterested.

How much eye contact they make - If someone does not make enough eye contact with you, you may perceive them as disinterested or embarrassed. On the other hand, if someone makes too much eye contact, they can come across as creepy.

Amazon Go - No Lines, No Checkout... Just Grab & Go!

Using the same type of technologies as self-driving cars and computer vision, Amazon Go is soon to be the next big thing. Located at 2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA, on the corner of 7th Avenue and Blanchard Street, the first Amazon Go has been built to create a shopping experience where customers don't have to wait in lines to checkout. In fact, they don't have to checkout at all!

With Amazon Go's Just Walk Out Shopping experience, all you need is an Amazon account, a smartphone, and the Amazon Go app to utilize this new store. You go in the store, take your desired products, and leave...NO checkout! By automatically detected when products are taken from or returned to the shelves, their Just Walk Out technology uses a virtual cart to keep track of what you take then they charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. So you basically shop just like at a regular store and just get billed.
In the roughly 1,800 square foot store, you'll find things like ready-to-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, along with snacks that are made fresh daily by on-site chefs and local kitchens and bakeries. They also stock bread, milk, cheese, and chocolate.

Opening to the public in early 2017, Amazon Go is now available to Amazon employees in their Beta program. Click here for more information.

How To Be A Great Boss

Everyone has had a boss, at one point in their life. Most bosses are okay, some bosses are horrible, and very few bosses are great. If you ask a bunch of people what makes a great boss, you're going to get a bunch of different answers. However, there are a few things that make a boss great.

Experience is probably the most important thing that makes a great boss. In order to be good at our job, we need to observe and learn from others. Who do we try to learn from? Our boss. So a boss that has a lot of experience is great.

Seeing situations from different perspectives makes a great boss. Getting feedback from different employees and considering various opinions and suggestions can help a boss improve the workplace, products or services, and their own leadership skills.

In order for a company to be successful, it must have a unique purpose and a structured workplace. A boss that understands the alignment of the company makes for a great one. A boss that helps a company work smoothly and encourages every employee to do their job comfortably and efficiently will keep the company aligned. Along with structure, a boss that can help the company adapt to changing conditions will enable it to grow and prosper.

Being friendly, approachable, and efficient is not enough to be a great boss. It takes experience, perspective, and alignment as well.
